例文）It takes three hours to drive to a city. 街まで車で3時間かかる。

minute
分
例文）It takes three minutes to cook. 調理するのに3分かかる
a minute（1分）, two minutes（2分）, three minutes（3分）, four minutes（4分）

秒
例文）It takes only three seconds to make a first impression.　第一印象を与えるのには3秒しかかからない。
day
日
例文）It takes two days to paint a house. 家のペンキを塗るのに二日かかる

月
例文）It took me three months to lose 10 pounds. 10パウンド痩せるのに3ヶ月かかった。

時間の読み方

It's 5 o'clock.
5時ちょうどだ
o'clockは○時ちょうどという意味になります。

It's 5:40. (It's five forty.)
5時40分だ

It's five (minutes) past five now.
今5時を5分過ぎたところだ。（5時5分だ）

It's quarter past five.
5時を15分過ぎたところだ。（5時15分だ）
ここでのquarterは15分です。

It's quarter to five.
5時まで15分だ。（4時45分だ）

It's quarter to noon.
正午まで15分だ。（午前11時45分だ）
